Here at the trust we thrive on helping people all aroundNZ. Click here to see how it all started

Six years ago Barbara Aitken, our office manager, started the 'Kiwi Family Trust Knitting Club'. The purpose to make sure babies and small children in NZ have warm knitted clothing. It has been so successful that Barbara has had to give up her office job, and concentrate on the knitting.

We now have over 150 knitters throughout NZ, from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Wool is either donated by people cleaning out their wool at home or by wool companies . It doesn't matter if it's only a few odd balls or a big cone, it's all knitted up and passed on.

 Barbara's Latest Adventures

April 2015: Barbara has just returned from  the North Island. She visited with Plunkets and community groups in Palmerston North, Wanganui, Waikato Hospital birthing unit. Then on to Wellington to Woolyarns to purchase more wool. She meet with many volunteer knitters on her way around.

March 2015: Barbara went to Dunedin and meet with volunteer knitters and called into Plunket. She also went to Wellington and caught up with knitters and delivered knitting to Plunket.

February 2015:  We delivered knitting goodies to Napier, dropped off wool to the Flaxmere ladies and went to Skeinz wool factory.
